Who are we?
Meet Gulshen Bano, CEO of Evolve Self Defence
Gulshen Bano is a multi award wining female self defence instructor and a mum of two boys. She started learning Krav Maga self defence skills in an attempt to keep her and her children safe. Almost a decade later and after opening her own self defence school Strike Back Self Defence, teaching women across the globe to stay safe she has launched her non profit organisation Evolve Self Defence CIC.
Her mission is to make these vey self defence skills accessible to everyone no matter what your circumstances.
Gulshen and her team believe all females have the right to feel safe and take up their rightful space in this world. By teaching these skills to not only women but also young girls AND educating boys we can make a generational difference to the world we live in and work towards changing the statistics of violence against females everywhere.
Our Mission
Evolve Self Defence is passionate about making essential self defence skills accessible to everyone. We don't believe your socio economic background should be a barrier to learning to stay safe and we are determined to deliver these services where it matters the most.
We believe everyone has the right to feel safe, empowered and confident and be able to protect themselves from violence and threats of violence.
With a clear focus on basic skills to build confidence and resilience we aim to empower you to recognise your own strengths that already exist within. Through our unique programs we will help you feel safer and stronger in the world you live.
What we do
Evolve Self Defence provides practical and classroom based self defence and confidence building skills to women, girls and young boys. Through our workshops, sessions and innovative hands on programmes we deliver directly to local communities, womens shelters and to school clubs and enrichment programmes.
By delivering straight to the heart of our communities we address the needs of local people and are able to empower them with the essential knowledge and skills they need to keep themselves and their loved ones safe.
